|More About Our Family
|Our Special Interests|
Johnhan is very handy and loves to use his power tools. He's great at wood working and building. Johnhan built our kitchen pantry, a sandbox for Jordan, and also renovated one of our bathrooms! He also loves football and basketball. His favorite teams are the Golden State Warriors and the Green Bay Packers.
Jeanne is very artistic and enjoys painting and decorating our home with art! Jeanne also loves gardening and spends much of her free time in our front and back yard with our son Jordan, showing him how to take care of our strawberry and tomato plants. Jordan loves to dig and also loves to eat fresh fruit and vegetables, so it's a perfect fit!
As Asian-Americans, we celebrate both American and Chinese holidays. We love Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival. Our traditions often blend together- with a traditional Thanksgiving turkey, we may also have sticky rice with Chinese sausage. For Christmas, we love decorating the tree and setting out a little Christmas village, but Jordan will often get lucky red envelopes in addition to presents. We are both bilingual in English and Chinese although English is our primary language. We, along with both sets of grandparents, are teaching our son Chinese as well.
|Our dog, Squeegee|
Our dog Squeegee is a rambunctious ball of fur! She is energetic, loving, and loyal to her pack. She has watched over Jordan since day one. Squeegee's favorite things to do including chasing squirrels in our backyard, tearing up her toys, and sneaking food from Jordan.
|Our Extended Family|
We are so blessed that our families live so close to us. Both sets of grandparents live within 30 minutes from us, as do many of our siblings and cousins.
Johnhan comes from a large family with two older sisters and one younger brother. His family is devoutly Catholic and his parents take Jordan to Mass every week. Jordan loves spending this quality time with them. Johnhan’s sister has 2 little boys and when the three boys get together, it is a zoo! Johnhan's oldest sister is also expecting a baby girl - the first girl in our family! The whole family is also so excited to see what our adoption journey brings and can't wait for another little baby to join our adventures.
Jeanne is an only child who is incredibly close with her parents. Jeanne’s mom used to be a teacher and her dad is a retired engineer. They love bringing Jordan to the library, encouraging his love of reading and learning. Jeanne’s tight-knit, small family is so excited to double the fun with one more grandchild.
