|More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
As a family, we love outdoor and sporting activities! When we aren't enjoying the wildlife and playing in our own backyard of 20 acres, we take walks, go to local parks, attend professional sporting events, and visit the beach every year. We attend several Dallas Cowboys' football games each season, as well as Texas Rangers baseball games.
Faith is the corner stone of our family. As Christians, we are very involved in our local church. Our children look forward to Sunday and Wednesday services and have many friends there. We teach children's church and help with Vacation Bible School in the summers. As parents, raising our children with faith based on the teachings of Jesus and scripture from the Bible are essential. We expect our children to grow up full of faith and having the love, strength, and compassion that comes with having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Musical Interest
Our musical interest are varied to say the least. We like many genres of music and listen to music all the time. We like everything from Christian to Texas country to classical. Date night could include going to a small venue to see a local band or dressing in our finest and attending the symphony.
About Our Home
When looking to purchase our home we kept in mind that we wanted room both inside and out. Inside is very spacious decorated in a rustic decor. Outside is 20 acres surrounded by a large field edge with a running creek and lots of wildlife. Although both the home and views are great, the true beauty resides in what happens in the house. Truly what makes a home is the love, laughter, and time spent with one another. Our home is full of hide and go seek, story time, and home cooked meals that dad some times burns up. Grandmother AKA "G" is a frequent visitor to our house. She has been additional constant force in our kids' lives. Bringing the traditions and memories of the past with the love and hugs that only a grandmother can bring.
We have 2 children. Our daughter, Avary, is 3 and our son, Kole, is 2. As you can imagine, they are both VERY busy. Avary, from the time she was born, had the most inquisitive and intelligent eyes. As she is growing up it has been evident that those eyes did not lie. Her days are spent reading books with the family, directing a dance show, or constantly exploring her surroundings. Her favorite color is purple, she LOVES playing dress up, and helping dad look for deer. She is an amazing tiny person that amazes us everyday. Kole is all boy and is really coming into his own. He loves trains, planes, and automobiles. He can't wait to go to "Pa Pa's" house to explore his extensive car collection. Kole already shows interest in shooting the bow and wrestling with dad. When mom tickles and gives him sugars his kackle is literally food for the soul. All in all these children, as with all children, are a wonder. Watching them grow and learn is one of the most amazing things we have seen in our life times. We love them with all of our heart and soul. We do have the highest expectations for them and we have all of the confidence in the world that they will become the people that would make any parent proud.
We live in the state of...
We live in the best State of the Union, ( Or we like to think so). Our State is so vast and varied in both geography and culture that it really is a unique place. We live an hour outside Dallas/ Ft. Worth, a part of the state that is growing daily. DFW offers everything anyone could need. Restaurants, sporting events, and large universities...DFW has it all. One of our favorite places in the state is San Antonio. The Alamo still stands there rich in history and the River Walk is a place that never gets old. Its restaurants, events, and architecture make for an amazing weekend. All in all Texas has a little bit for everyone and a lot to offer anyone living here.
We live 15 minutes from the closest town so our neighborhood is a little different from most. Our closest neighbor is a few hundred yards away. Most of the neighbors are older and retired so it is a very safe place to raise a family. Our neighbor, Joe, puts on the best fireworks show every year on the 4th of July and New Years!! As the kids get older, and are more able to explore their surroundings, there will be a ridiculous amount of room for them to be kids.
