|More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
Both of us enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends and attending sporting events. We actually just attended our first cricket match ever, while in Barbados.
Individually, Zach enjoys crossword puzzles and his latest hobby is assembling Legos from Star Wars and Marvel Comics.
Alison is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and spends time working with their different community programs, such as book fairs, 5K Runs/Walks and youth mentoring programs for junior high through high school.
We believe that Christ died for our sins and he was the walking reincarnation of God. We'll continue the tradition of attending church, as a family. We'll include our child in our community service and teach that what we do for the least among us is also done unto Him.
Our Musical Interest
Both of our Spotify playlists include everything - literally. We both enjoy gospel, 90s Rhythm & Blues, old school hip-hop and some operas. Zach also is a fan of Motown, neo-soul and artists from the 60s like Sam Cooke, Temptations. Alison has a Broadway playlist of shows she's seen and wants to see. She also keeps an ear out for Disney and kid-friendly artists to use when choreographing her sorority's Little Miss pageants.
About Our Home
We live in a waterfront community. There are plenty of kids in our building, which includes a playroom, movie room and a variety of play date activities for all children in the community year-round. We're walking distance from two parks and three daycare centers. Our neighborhood also has Movies on the Green with various family films during the summer.
We live in...
The Garden State, also known as New Jersey. We are fortunate enough to be minutes away from a cultural center. On our side of the river, we have parks, community markets, sports leagues for adult through children and a melting pot of various cultures.
Our neighborhood is very walkable. The grocery store, juice bar, dry cleaners, coffee shops and public transit (bus and ferry) are all within a 15-minute walk or less. We're also walking distance from an excellent pre-school/nursery and two playgrounds. All of the school buses for elementary and middle school stop in our community.
We're less than 20 minutes away from a cultural epicenter of theaters, dance companies, museums and libraries in New York City. It's a wonderful place to develop a talent for any child or adult.
We also have friends from grad school nearby with small children of their own or starting families. They are among our extended family, or as we call them our village.
