A Letter from Jason & Sarah

Thank you for taking an interest in getting to know us.  We are so excited to meet you and get to know you too!  We would be honored to spend time with you and learn about all the hopes you have for your child.

We are a warm, active Christian family of four thrilled to grow our family through open adoption.  God has been preparing us for this blessing, and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you. We enjoy all outdoor activities including fishing, camping, hiking, annual vacations, caring for animals, and family games.

Our Story

We met in our first year of veterinary school, married after graduation, and have now been married for 19 wonderful years.  We live on a large dairy farm in Northern Nevada and LOVE living in the country. Sarah also owns a dog and cat veterinary clinic 15 minutes from our home and is blessed to work part-time.

We have a strong Christian faith that is the foundation of our lives, our marriage, and how we raise our two boys Mason, 15 years old, and Jackson, 13 years old.  We love to spend time together taking vacations, hiking, fishing, camping, relaxing at a lake on our pontoon boat, watching our kids play sports, and playing with our dogs. We all can’t wait to grow our family through adoption and introduce your child to playing monopoly, driving an ATV, building sandcastles at the beach, and roasting smores over a campfire.

My Husband, Jason

Sarah says: Jason is a man of incredible integrity, generosity, and determination.  He is the hardest-working person I have ever known while also being a devoted father.  After work, he still makes time to practice baseball with the boys in the backyard or help with homework.

Jason never gives up when challenges arise and amazes everyone with his persistence.  Despite being an intense worker, he is also playful, lighthearted, and easygoing.  He has a quick wit and loves to joke with a boyish grin and a twinkle in his eye! Jason loves to fish, hike, coach sports, and go on road trips.

Jason’s excited to show your child how to kick a soccer ball, plant tomatoes in the garden, and catch their first fish.  He looks forward to teaching them to value honesty and hard work while also showing them how to enjoy the moment and embrace life’s adventures.

My Wife, Sarah

Jason says: Sarah is a wonderful wife and mother.  She has an adventurous soul and tackles any challenge put in front of her.  She enjoys backpacking, river rafting, swimming, and reading.  It is great to have a wife that isn’t afraid to get dirty just as long as she is spending time with her family.

Sarah is also one of the most compassionate and caring people I know.  She will do everything in her power to help a person or animal in need.  Sarah always puts family first.  She likes the simple things of motherhood like driving the kids to school, playing board games, and doing home improvement projects together. Sarah can’t wait to teach your child how to swim, read stories, throw the ball for the dogs, and play on the jungle gym.

Our Home In Nevada

We live in a charming, 6-bedroom, two-story farmhouse on a dairy farm with 800 acres of corn and alfalfa fields.  We have a huge backyard complete with a fenced-in pool and batting cage.  We have so much space to play outdoors right outside our front door.  Raising animals and farming is a big part of who we are as a family.

Because we love animals and have so much space, we have lots of pets.  Our children have grown up learning to value the animals’ lives. We look forward to teaching our next child how to gather fresh eggs from the chickens and bottle feed the new baby goats.

We’re only a 15-minute drive from our wonderfully close-knit community and 1 hour from a big city.  Our town has a wonderful Christian school that our boys attend that values God and excellent education. We enjoy our local church, community museum, new movie theater, bowling alley, and all the families we have gotten to know through kids’ sports.

Our Sons and Family

Our two sons, Mason (15) and Jackson (13), are very close, excel in school, and enjoy doing most things together.  Both of them are so excited to have another brother or sister to show the world to.  They look forward to teaching them how to throw a ball, make a campfire, and build legos.

All of our grandparents and almost all of our extended family live within a few hour’s drive from us.  The grandparents love monthly visits to spend time with our children and take them on trips to Disney World, river rafting in Idaho, or going to a baseball game.  We have lots of cousins and fun chaos when we all get together for family holidays.  Our extended family is very supportive and excited about adoption and another little family member joining the clan!

Our Promise

We promise to respect you and honor your decision. We promise to give your child a loving, supportive, safe, and accepting family and encourage them to grow into the person that God created them to be.  We will teach your child to be kind, help others, work hard, be confident, value learning, and trust in God.  We look forward to teaching your child how to play sports, do puzzles, and read to them every night before bedtime.  We can’t wait to introduce them to new places and walk through all the adventures of life together. We are open to photos, letters, calls, and visits.

With love,
Jason and Sarah
